Question: Do I have to put my tree on Ancestry.com to make a book or poster in MyCanvas?
Answer: You do need to have a tree online at Ancestry.com to create a poster or book in MyCanvas. However, you can make it Private and also Hide it if you are concerned about other people having access to it. You can also delete it from the site when you are finished.
The information on Living people under 100 years of age, without a death date, will automatically be blocked even if you allow your tree to be Public.
A Private tree will show up in searches, but people will need to contact you to see the details for people in your tree. Again, Living people under 100 years of age, without a death date, will be blocked.
A Hidden tree will not appear in the search results. Only you and those you invite can see the data in your tree.
When you are finished with your MyCanvas projects, you may remove the tree from Ancestry.com completely if you choose.
